Puberty vs. Adolescence

I was aware that puberty and adolescence were different but I wasn’t sure what exactly made them different. This training clarified it.

Description:

Puberty and Adolescence are not the same thing. This training will help you learn how to separate puberty from adolescence as two different processes, but understand the importance of each. We’ll discuss aspects of brain development, body changes, and social / emotional / moral development. We will also talk about a person’s emerging sexuality, sexual and gender identity, and healthy sexual development.

  • Identify the changes that happen during puberty vs. the changes that happen throughout adolescence

  • Prepare for a person’s emerging gender and sexual identity

  • Recognize healthy sexual development as a process of on-going learning

  • Understand the imperative for proactive, preventative supports
