Atypical Development & Behaviors
Description:
It is important to understand the link between atypical human development and different types of problematic, unhealthy, or even violent behaviors. Understanding this link will enable teams to design more informed, thoughtful, and effective responses. And, realizing that many behaviors are not a ‘choice’ but actually related to someone’s disability or disorder, can help staff manage their expectations and avoid reactivity.
